First Savings Bank is introducing MasterCard SecureCode with name of First Savings Credit Card, which is a free service designed to enhance your existing First Savings Bank MasterCard account. It’s a private security code which protects you against unauthorized use of your card when you shop online at participating merchants. The SecureCode acts just like a Personal Identification Number (PIN) at the ATM, all you do is enter your private SecureCode during checkout at participating online merchants when prompted by First Savings Bank. Once your identity is confirmed, your purchase is complete.
If you have a poor credit history, you may have received an invitation in the mail to apply for the First Savings Credit Card. Designed specifically for subprime applicants, this card has a fast-growing base of cardholders who lack the credit history to apply with prime issuers like Chase and Discover.

First Savings Bank is making a valiant effort at providing the underserved subprime credit card market with an easy-to-obtain offer. But while its online interface is simple to use, its terms and application process unfortunately leave a lot to be desired.
There is not an introductory APR for this card, so the lowest or standard rate may apply immediately or after the grace period for eligible purchases. Please see the application disclosures regarding the annual fee.
First Savings Credit Card Rewards:
This is not a rewards card. It is normal for cards for fair and poor credit histories to not offer rewards.
Credit Record Needed:
Based on the FICO score recommendation, the issuer may expect that applicants may have had problems with their credit history, or are working on building their credit reputation. A FICO credit score of 578 is recommended for a higher chance of approval, but this is not required. There are a number of other factors that this issuer may also consider when making decisions for approval. While your FICO score is usually a very important factor, you may want to consider other areas that may affect a decision for approval. For example, your debt to income ratio, recent credit inquiries, 30+ day delinquencies, or current credit accounts nearing the maximum amount may affect a credit decision.
FICO scores/credit scores are used to represent the creditworthiness of a person and may be one indicator to the credit type you are eligible for. However, a credit score alone does not guarantee or imply approval for any First Savings Bank product.
We’d highly recommend reviewing other cards for poor credit and fair credit before proceeding with your First Savings application.
